Description
Leslie is located just east of US 127 between Lansing and Jackson. Director to plan and supervise the activities and personnel of the Public Works Department, which includes water production and distribution, storm and sewer collection systems, streets, parks, pools, motor vehicle pool, implementation of capital improvements and general maintenance of public buildings. Perform complex supervisory, administrative duties which include grant applications, state reporting, budget preparation and department purchasing, special projects as assigned by City Manager, and professional work in planning, organizing, directing, and supervising the department. Director required to be on-call at times and perform physical tasks necessary for the job. Reports directly to the City Manager. Applicant should have 5-7 years experience in public works supervision or related field and a valid CDL driver’s license (or ability to obtain one). Applicant will preferably have S-3 & D-3 certifications in water. Applicant should have computer skills including the ability to effectively use Microsoft Word and Excel and provide presentations to boards and commissions. The ability to work efficiently with citizens, administrative personnel and other staff members is critical.
